The City of East Palo Alto is considering a temporary pilot project on University Avenue between Donohoe Street and Bay Road to test potential changes to the roadway and better understand how they may affect the community.
The proposed pilot would temporarily reduce the roadway from two travel lanes in each direction to one travel lane in each direction, while providing dedicated space for transit and emergency vehicles. If implemented, the City would monitor traffic, travel times, safety, transit operations, and community feedback throughout the pilot.
The City is seeking community input to help determine whether to move forward with the temporary pilot project. This survey will help the City understand how community members currently use University Avenue, potential benefits and concerns associated with the proposed pilot, and what factors should be considered before making a decision.
