What Conversations (About Sex) Can We Help You Have with Your Kids?

When we teach parents our content from "The Talks," the number one request we have is, "Can you talk to my kids about this?" Our answer is always the same: "No!" While we want to remind you that it's YOUR job to help YOUR kids navigate their sexuality, we also know that having those key conversations can be difficult. So we want to help.

We are in the process of developing a series of audio resources for families that you can listen to with your kids. We will introduce specific topics to get you talking. Our plan is to create 6 different CDs with about 10 tracks on each. (Three for guys and three for girls, targeted at three different developmental levels.) Each track will be brief so you can listen in the car on the way to ball practice or on the way home from school.

Here's where we need your help. We want to know specifically what topics you want us to "tee up" for you. We already have a bunch in mind, but we want to make sure we're covering exactly what families need. This brief survey will help us. Please take a few minutes to complete it, and then pass it on to other parents you know. Thanks!!

*NOTE: Our target age groups are tweens (9-11), middle school (12-14), and high school (15+). We are operating on the assumption that the families listening to these resources have already talked about where babies come from. We will not be talking about the specifics of reproduction, as Family Life already tackled that effectively with their Passport to Purity tools.

*ALSO NOTE: If you have different aged/gendered kids, please complete this survey for each of your different children. (3 kids = 3 different surveys.)

Question Title

* 1. What is your child's gender?

Question Title

* 2. What is your child's age level?

Question Title

* 3. Of the following topics, which ones could you use some help with? (Choose all that apply.)

Question Title

* 4. How comfortable would you be listening to a 5 minute clip with your kids in the car and then talking about it?

Question Title

* 5. Our planned format is to have Barrett discussing topics with a few college-aged guys, and then Jen discussing topics with a few college-aged girls. The assumption is that fathers and sons will listen to the CD's with Barrett and that mothers and daughters will listen to the CD's with Jen. We would welcome suggestions you might have to make that format better. (Write your ideas in the box below.)

Question Title

* 6. Would you be more likely to buy a CD or to download MP3 files to your computer or device?

Question Title

* 7. What would be a reasonable price for a CD resource like this that had about 10 different 5 minute conversation starters for you and your child?
