State of the Family Support Sector 2026

Introduction

The purpose of this survey is to look at the current state of play of drug and alcohol family support. This includes in terms of delivery, sustainability, funding and partnerships.

We intend to find out what has changed since our previous State of the Sector report in 2023. This survey will run until Monday 1st June 2026 after which point the findings will be written up into a report and disseminated nationally.

This survey is open to any employee of an organisation which provides support for families affected by substance use. Please note this study primarily relates to services operating in England, however services in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are also welcome to contribute.

The survey can be completed anonymously and it will take around 15 minutes to complete. If you would be open to a short follow-up interview by telephone, please provide contact details when prompted at the end of the survey.

Thank you for your input. If you have any questions please contact Rob Stebbings, Policy & Communications Lead, r.stebbings@adfam.org.uk.
