Rise Leadership is a leadership program designed for high school sophomores and juniors. Its goal is to inspire participants to become creators, critical thinkers, community leaders, and social change makers. Students receive $100 per month for their participation.

Rise Leadership Program Structure: Participants choose a "track" to focus on and attend weekly sessions at Oyate’s headquarters, located at 276 Grand Concourse. By the end of the school year, participants will have:
  • Identified and exemplified key leadership qualities
  • Gained a stronger sense of self
  • Learned about careers related to their interests
Rise Leadership participants learn leadership skills by selecting a “track” to focus on.

Tracks and Meeting Times: (*When applying you can choose to come to more than 1 track)

Design and Technology: Meets on Mondays from 4-7pm

Visual Arts and Civic Engagement: Meets on Tuesdays from 4-7pm

Civic Leadership and Advocacy: Meets on Wednesdays from 4-7pm

Business and Entrepreneurship: Meets on Thursday from 4-7pm

On Fridays Rise Leadership students have the opportunity to come to Oyate to work on independent or group projects, play board games or use the equipment and computers from 4pm-7pm.

International Travel Opportunity: In the summer before their senior year, Rise Leadership participants can apply for a 14-day international travel experience to either Costa Rica or Panama. This trip focuses on service learning, cultural immersion, and leadership development in partnership with Global Glimpse.

Rise Leadership begins the week of October 14th, 2024 and runs until May 30, 2025.
