The Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation is exploring methods to improve opportunities for International Medical Graduate researchers and clinicians to continue their work in the U.S. at PKD-dedicated institutions.
Our goals are to:
1: Understand where in the career and Visa-requirement pipeline PKD researchers and clinicians are unable to continue their work in the U.S. to practice in their institution/location of choice and/or receive their grant of choice due to visa requirements, and
2. Consider advocacy efforts to modify either the J-1 and H-1B Visa requirement to give special consideration to nephrology specialists and researchers.
