When requested, the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA) conducts a balloting process of candidates for vacancies on the Board of Examiners. After balloting, a rank-ordered list of candidates will be submitted to the Governor’s office and the Department of Health. They are responsible for the vetting and final selection of candidates for the BoE. Candidates approved by the Governor must be confirmed by the Maryland State Senate.

For this balloting, the Board is looking to fill two (2) vacancies: one (1) clinical psychologist position and one (1) research/academic psychologist position.

Candidates for the BoE are psychologists who:
  • Are U.S. citizens licensed in and residents of the state of MD.
  • Have practiced, taught and/or engaged in psychological research for at least 5 years. Candidates cannot be registered as a lobbyist. Terms for the appointed Board members will begin in July 2022.

Please read the candidate information and make your selections accordingly. Ballots must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Thank you for your participation in this very important balloting process. If you have any questions, please contact MPA at exec@marylandpsychology.org
