As union members would be aware, Serco was supposed to meet with the union today and report back on our ask for at least $30 per hour for CCOs. However, Serco cancelled the meeting with the union at the very last minute, advising that they 'do not believe another meeting this week is warranted or would be a productive use of either side’s time'. It is the union's view that this is disrespectful, particularly given that they were due to come back to the table and let the union know what their position on the wage offer was. It goes to show how Serco view their workers with contempt, such that they cannot even be bothered turning up to a meeting that they themselves scheduled.

This is your EA, and what happens next is entirely up to union members. At this stage, there are several options on the table. We can move forward with industrial action next week, that being a 48-hour strike. We also have the capacity to seek assistance from the Fair Work Commission with bargaining, to get Serco back to the table and make them talk through the union's claims. Doing both is an option as well.

It is entirely up to the members to decide what happens next and so we want your feedback. If the majority of members vote to strike next week, then we will proceed with the strike. If you think going to the Commission for assistance is worth a shot, then we will do so.

Please fill in this survey at your earliest convenience, and of course reach out if you have any questions.
