Luke Jensen Sports Park Improvements Survey

The Parks and Nature division of Clark County Public Works is planning improvements to the sports fields and play area at Luke Jensen Sports Park.

  • Fields 2 and 3 (Little League fields) will be converted to synthetic turf.
  • Field 2 will be striped for soccer. This will allow the fields to be used year-round and add availability for soccer and girls’ softball.
  • Turf on Field 1 will be replaced. It will be restriped with the same striping it has currently.
  • The play area equipment will be replaced. The play equipment is approaching the end of its expected life and a portion of it is damaged. The equipment will be replaced, and space will be maximized for play. The benches will be replaced and relocated.
  • A new basketball half-court may be installed. A feasibility assessment is being conducted.

Feedback gathered from this survey will inform the improvements to this facility.

New Play Area Designs
We have two concept designs for improvements to the play area. We will review the input received from this survey to finalize a preferred design. Please tell us what you like or don’t like about these concepts!

Both concepts have been designed to maximize play space and increase accessibility for all kids. The wood chips in the current play area will be removed and replaced with synthetic play grass. This will improve access for those using mobility devices. Both concepts feature partial shade structures. Benches will be removed from the play area and placed in landscape beds or along walkways in sight of the play area. These changes will maximize the available space in the play area for inclusive play.
