1. Student Leader Commitment Form
As a student organization leader, you play a critical role on Calvin's campus, and Calvin College wants to invest in you. By becoming an organization leader, you are moving beyond your passion for an issue, cause, or activity to leading people in that issue, cause, activity. You will face challenges like running meetings, motivating people, and balancing your studies with leadership and organizational responsibilities, and you will have help. Thank you for taking the time to lead and learn. Vibrant campus life is dependent upon folks like you.
Responsibilities of Organization Leaders
- Set a vision for the organization and set goals for the year
- Guarantee that your student organization does at least ONE event for the whole campus
- Maintain your organization's active presence on Calvin's campus
- Schedule regular meetings with your faculty/staff adviser
- Create a hospitable environment fostering an acceptance and diversity of people, opinions, and experiences
- Commit to regular communication with the Coordinator of Student Organizations
- Complete "Goals and Activities" form in the Fall
- Submit Events and Activities forms for every event
- Participate in a financial audit in the Fall
- Submit midyear self -evaluation
- Meet with Coordinator in January or February
- Attend and evaluate designated number of Leadership Journey meetings
- Participate in Cokes and Clubs in the Fall
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Maintain good academic standing and exercise good judgment consistent consistent with the student conduct code
By "signing" and submitting this form, I agree to uphold the responsibilities outlined above.
