This survey is for the substance FISH OIL
- Uses in organic processing/handling: Allowed as an ingredient or processing aid when organic forms are not commercially available. Must be stabilized with organic ingredients or only with ingredients on the National List. Used to increase the content of omega-3 fatty acids in a variety of food products, including breads, pies, cereals, yogurt, cheese products, frozen dairy products, meat products, cookies, crackers, snack foods, condiments, sauces, and soup mixes.
- Reference on the National List: §205.606 Nonorganically produced agricultural products allowed as ingredients in or on processed products labeled as “organic,” only in accordance with any restrictions specified in this section, and only when the product is not commercially available in organic form. (d) Fish oil (Fatty acid CAS #'s: 10417-94-4, and 25167-62-8)—stabilized with organic ingredients or only with ingredients on the National List, §§205.605 and 205.606.
