Oncovasular surgery (OVS) is a new multi-disciplinary approach to advanced oncological disease, defined as cancer resection with concurrent reconstruction of a major vascular structure. There are several scientific papers describing the results of attempted curative or debulking oncovascular procedures in patients with advanced oncological disease, which, without the option of a vascular reconstruction, would have been offered only symptomatic treatment.

Overtreatment, when cure is futile, also threatens the quality of the remaining life, underlining the importance of scientific evaluation of OVS. This new sub-specialisation of vascular surgery needs standardisation. We are preparing a systematic consensus statement, or recommendations, which define the role of vascular surgery in this complex and multidisciplinary field of medicine. For this reason, we ask information from you, vascular surgeons, concerning how much you are influenced by OVS in your routine practice, what experience you have of OVS procedures and knowledge gaps that you experience in your daily practice.

If you could spend a few minutes of your precious time to reply to this short survey, which will be very helpful for further development of concept OVS, it would be much appreciated. Answering the 15 questions will take you approximately 10-20 minutes. This initiative is supported by the ESVS.

Thank you for your response.
