7.What current and potential future issues in refugee litigation would most benefit from academic input?
8.Please rank the following models for facilitating collaboration between academics and practitioners in order of preference:

Model Key features
Model 1:
Searchable list of academics
  • A searchable list of academics who have shown interest in assisting practitioners.
  • Registered practitioners would be able to log-in online to access profiles and contact details.
Model 2:
'Job' portal
  • Practitioners can post ‘jobs’ and academics can respond.
  • Notification feature so academics who may not have that expertise can tag the most appropriate person.
Model 3: Relationship management
  • A relationship manager would assist in the search for the most appropriate expertise and facilitate the connection.
  • Can facilitate and manage the terms of engagement.
  • Database remains internal to Kaldor Centre.
Model 4: Combined
  • A relationship manager would be available to answer enquiries or put out a call to registered academics if no suitable person was returned in a search.
  • A relationship manager would ensure that all entries in the job portal were responded to (addresses the risk of having no response at all to a posting).
