TIS-A is provided by the FAA’s terminal area Mode-S radars and Mode-S Data Link Transponders in GA aircraft. It provides data to Cockpit Display of Traffic Information (CDTI) avionics to increase the Traffic Awareness (TA) of GA pilots. Increased TA helps VFR pilots visually acquire other aircraft sooner that could pose the risk of a mid-air collision.

The purpose of this survey is to gather information on the likely safety and economic impacts to General Aviation (GA) operators as Mode-S Traffic Information Service (TIS-A) is terminated over the next several years.
