General Guidelines:
The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) Chicago Film Office will accept submissions for the ChicagoMade Shorts Series through May 1, 2018. Submissions will be reviewed by a selection panel, and a final program will be featured as part of the 6th Annual Summer Film Series in Millennium Park (Jun 5 - Aug 21, Tuesdays at 6:30pm). Selected entrants will be notified directly by May 21, 2018.
In addition to one screening with an exposure to approximately 8,000-10,000 audience members, selected films will be paid a screening fee of up to $200.
Filmmakers and films will be promoted in applicable marketing efforts for the Millennium Park Summer Film Series. Screening dates and number of films chosen will be decided at the discretion of DCASE. DCASE reserves the right to use any and all submitted materials for promotional and marketing materials for the Millennium Park Film Series and other DCASE events.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Films submitted must be the original work of the person or persons submitting.
- Entrant filmmakers or production companies must currently reside in the Chicago area.
- Films must be the equivalent of MPAA Rating PG-13 or lower to meet the Millennium Park Film Series screening standards. DCASE will make the final call regarding appropriateness of content.
- Runtime: maximum of 5 minutes.
- Entry fee: no entry fee.
- Entrants may submit multiple entries from any year of production, works of any genre.
- If entrant is under 18 years of age, parental permission is required for screening.
- Entrants agree to grant the City of Chicago/DCASE the right to screen the work free of charge to a public audience on a date chosen by DCASE from June 5 – August 21, 2018.
Technical Requirements:
- Films must be submitted via online screener - Vimeo links, YouTube links, etc only. No DVDs!
- If selected, films must be available for screening via downloadable Hi-res file.
Deadlines:
- All submissions must be received no later than 11:59 pm on May 1, 2018.
- Selected submissions will be notified before May 21, 2018.
