1. Welcome to the Lucas County Solid Waste Management District
The Lucas County Solid Waste Management District ("District") is in the process of preparing their 2011 Annual District Report. This report provides the District with important information about waste, recycling and organics activities within the local communities in Lucas County. The Ohio EPA requires the District to prepare this report every year to measure achievement toward waste reduction and recycling goals set by both the District and Ohio EPA. Overall this report provides a comprehensive inventory of all the solid wastes generated, reduced, recycled, and disposed from municipalities, businesses and facilities that process materials within the District.
In an effort to help measure the success of waste reduction and recycling efforts within Lucas County, please complete this survey with 2011 (January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011) data, including composting data from your compost facility. We would appreciate as much detail as you can provide. All information provided will be kept confidential and only used for aggregate use.
We are collecting data for each of the following sectors: (1) residential, (2) commercial/institutional, and (3) industrial. The survey is set up to collect compost information by each of these sectors. Please ensure that you are putting your data in the right sector below (sector identified in BOLD text for each question).
As a reminder, please only provide data that reflects compost activities that occurred within Lucas County (if numbers represent activities outside the County, please do not include). All data must reflect actual yard/food waste volumes (no estimates please). In an effort to reduce the double counting of data numbers, please provide information about where the yard/food wastes where taken for composting(who hauled them away or who processed them).
Please complete and submit your report by April 30, 2012.
