Tipperary Age Friendly are asking for your input to inform on future requirements in the event of severe weather or other emergency events
1.Were you aware of the weather warnings before the recent storm Eowyn and the snow storm
2.Were you able to secure your home?
3.Were you able to stay with family or friends?
4.How were you affected by the weather events?
5.Did you have to call any emergency services during the weather events e.g. ambulance
6.Have you contact details for local services that you can call on in an emergency?Is it easily accessible i.e. on your fridge or poster on wall?
7.Have you an emergency box with items that would be useful e.g. a torch, list of contact numbers for services such as Uisce Eireann, Electric Ireland, safe lamps to use for lighting around the house, gas cooking ring or heater, flameless candles, batterysupply, extra blankets. Would a checklist for items be helpful?
8.Do you have emergency food and water supplies (dried pantry food/bottled water)?
9.Do you have your own transport?
10.In the event of similar storms in the future, would you be interested in availing of an emergency response service which would contact you by phone or in
person on a daily basis to check in on you?
11.Do you know your closest/nearest voluntary based support to reach out to such as Red Cross, Civil Defence, Gardaí, Search and Rescue
12.Have you any suggestions or comments about how you could be supported for future weather events?
