Dear Mona City Resident,

In the August 3, 2022 Planning & Zoning Work Session, it was proposed that Mona City consider requirements for NEW SUBDIVISIONS to install sidewalks.   However, in the 2018 Mona City General Plan, Mona City residents were polled about the importance of sidewalks in our community, and 71.43% of the responders felt that sidewalks were not important in Mona City (Section 7.6.1, "Pedestrian Facilities").  The General Plan states that “While sidewalks, curbs, and gutters are prominent features in some cities, respondents to a community survey felt that Mona’s rural nature is complemented by a lack of these features".  As it has been four years since this survey was completed, the Planning & Zoning Commissioners are asking for Mona City residents’ input to the following:
