Thank you for considering participation in this research study. This study examines psychological and relational experiences following the discovery of a partner’s sexual or relational betrayal. Your responses may help improve scientific understanding of how individuals experience changes in trust, emotions, and sense-making after difficult relationship events. The survey takes approximately 25–30 minutes to complete.
Before you begin, please note: Participation is completely voluntary:
You may skip any question
You may stop the survey at any time
Your responses are anonymous
No identifying information will be collected (unless you you choose to opt in more research opportunities)
Some questions ask about personal relationship experiences. While many participants do not find these questions distressing, you may skip any item that feels uncomfortable. This research is not a substitute for mental health care. If reflecting on these topics raises emotional concerns, mental health resources will be provided at the end of the survey.
Because this research depends on thoughtful responses, please complete the survey in a private setting where you can answer honestly and without interruption. If you need to take a break and come back to finish, that is also okay.
By continuing, you acknowledge that you are at least 18 years of age and consent to participate. 👉 Click “Next” to begin.
