Bloxham Parish Council - Review of 20mph Speed Restrictions

Following consultation in the village by the Parish Council, Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) implemented widespread 20mph speed restrictions in Bloxham on 28 January 2024.

In the majority of the village, 20mph is a mandatory speed limit, but on the A361 past Warriner School, it is an advisory limit which is only implemented during term time. Data collected from the regular sessions by the Community Speedwatch Team on the major roads in the village, suggests that around 25% of vehicles still travel at speeds in excess of 25mph.

Recent air quality testing data collected at roadside over a 5-year period, indicates a 20% improvement in air quality since the 20mph speed restrictions came into force.

OCC has requested that the Parish Council provides feedback on the change and it is appropriate that residents are given the opportunity to contribute via this short survey by 14 December 2026.
