On September 12, 2022, the City of Alexandria launched Phase II of the Duke Street Traffic Mitigation Pilot. This pilot aims to improve congestion on Duke Street and reduce cut-through traffic on neighborhood streets.  The pilot has two components.  First, direct access onto the Telegraph Road ramp from West Taylor Run Parkway is restricted.  Drivers must use alterative routes.  Second, more green signal time was added to Quaker Lane and Duke Street during the afternoon rush to help move traffic on those streets faster so less people will cut-through the neighborhood.

During the pilot, the community can provide feedback on what they are experiencing via this feedback form. For more information on the project and engagement efforts, visit the project website and see the FAQs.

Please note that it takes time for people to shift travel patterns after changes are made.  Please be patient while perople get used to the new traffic changes.
