Gender and social movements perceptions survey

This survey is designed to collect individual experiences and perceptions about gender and social movements. In taking part, you are not expected to speak for a whole movement, organisation or group. Please answer the following questions based on your own experiences, reflections, ideas and feelings. Please feel free to skip questions not relevant to your experience, and add extra information and detail in the free text boxes if you wish.

Definitions: throughout the survey we refer to two groupings of movements:

• Women’s and gender justice movements (by which we mean movements fighting for women’s rights and more equitable gender relations)
• Other social justice movements (by which we mean progressive movements fighting for a range of causes – for example human rights, indigenous people’s rights, economic justice etc)

While we recognise that this is in many ways an artificial split, we are using these definitions here for the purposes of the survey, so that we can gage how this split is perceived and whether it is active and visible within activism and movement building.
