INTRODUCTION

Thank you for taking time to participate in the Feather Conservation Community Survey.  Our goal is to compile information about restoration and conservation techniques used by those involved in the preservation and care of objects containing feathers. Your responses will inform our upcoming research on cleaning, treatment, and recoloring of feathers. That research will be carried out in fulfillment of an IMLS grant-funded project through the American Museum of Natural History.  AMNH partners on the Feather Project include Yale University's Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, the UCLA/Getty Program in Archaeological and Ethnographic Conservation, and the Getty Conservation Institute. Information obtained from the survey as well as results of project research will be shared on the project blog:

We expect the survey to take approximately 30 minutes. If you need to take a break, you may return and edit your responses later. Any questions, comments, or further discussion can be directed to AMNH Project Conservator, Renee Riedler (rriedler@amnh.org)
