Drug Medi-Cal Continuum of Care

This pilot program will make improvements to the delivery of Drug Medi-Cal
services by focusing on critical elements including:
*  Provides a continuum of care modeled after the American Society of Addiction
    Medicine (ASAM) Criteria for Substance Use Disorder treatment services;
*  Increases local control and accountability with greater administrative oversight;
*  Creates utilization controls to improve care and efficient use of resources;
*  Increases program oversight and integrity;
*  Provides more intensive services for the criminal justice population which are
    harder to treat;
*  Requires evidence based practices in substance abuse treatment; and
*  Increases coordination with other systems of care including physical and mental
    health.
 
The goal of the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System Waiver is to improve
the quality and availability of substance use disorder treatment services in Santa
Barbara County.
 
Your participation and feedback will assist the Santa Barbara County Alcohol and Drug Program enhance and expand substance use disorder treatment throughout Santa Barbara County.
