Jeremiah Morris, for whom Morrisville was named, contributed property for the railway in the mid-1800's which triggered the economic beginnings of the town. In the spirit exemplified by Mr. Morris, the Morrisville Chamber is seeking nominations for Community Steward of the Year. Self-nominations are also encouraged.

Winners will be announced at the Chamber's 27th Annual Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018. Average attendance is 300. All applicants are encouraged to attend. The application deadline is Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, 5 pm.

Winners will be featured in the Chamber's e-newsletter and on the Chamber's website. A press release announcing this year's winners is sent following the event. Winners are also provided a special logo that can be used on their website and collateral stating the award recognition.

Criteria:
- Member of the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce
- Must be physically located in Wake, Orange, or Durham counties
- Business has been operating since Jan. 1 2014, or before
- President/owner and/or company has been involved in community activities
