Introduction

This is the Training & Experience (T&E) Self-Assessment Exam for the Conservationist I classification. It is important to understand that this is an examination, not an application for hiring. If you are successful in this examination, your name will be placed on an eligibility list used to fill vacancies statewide; however, placement on the eligibility list does not guarantee a job.

You will still need to apply for each job posting you are interested in once you are on the list.

In the following pages you will be asked to provide some basic personal information about yourself and whether or not you are willing to work under certain conditions. The self-assessment exam is designed to measure how your education, training, and work history has provided you with the essential knowledge and abilities required to successfully perform in the Conservationist I classification. At the conclusion, you will review and electronically sign the Affirmation page.

If you are taking this exam and have not submitted a state application on the calcareers website, please click on the link below and submit your application. Click the "apply now" at the top of the page of the exam bulletin to start the application process.
Conservationist I Exam Control

The responses you provide in this self-assessment exam will be compared to your state application, will be verified, and may be discussed in a hiring interview.

All instructions should be read carefully and understood before completing this examination. Upon receipt of your completed T&E self-assessment exam, it becomes the property of the California Conservation Corps' Exam Unit and cannot be returned for confidentiality reasons.

Candidates receiving a passing score will be placed on the resulting eligible list in order of final score. You will have 24 months of eligibility.
