B!KE’s Winter Wheels program aims to increase the number and visibility of people on bikes year-round by helping aspiring cold-weather riders to “get a grip on winter”. The program provides participants with studded or other specialized winter tires, skills workshops, resources, bike maintenance support and ongoing encouragement in exchange for a commitment to ride at least once a week over the winter. The program begins in November and runs until April.
Anyone residing in the City of Peterborough is encouraged to apply. If applications exceed the number of available spots, priority will be given to individuals who do not already have winter riding experience, who are in financial need or who represent diverse communities.
Please note that we are only able to supply winter tires for 26", 27.5" or 700C wheels.

Online applications will be accepted until end-of-day October 11, 2024. Successful participants will be notified by October 18. As a program participant you must agree to participate in:
Riding your bike this winter!
An in-shop appointment to prepare your bike for winter
Surveys at the beginning and end of the program
Photos to be shared by B!KE on social media and B!KE’s website
Other aspects of the program we encourage everyone to participate in include:
