The Commissioner of Education invites the cooperation of teachers in evaluating the Regents Examinations listed below. The questions in these examinations were written by classroom teachers. The test development process included field testing on representative groups of high school students, assembly of the examinations by committees of classroom teachers, and review by Department testing specialists.

Suggestions from teachers provide an important contribution to the test development program. May we ask your assistance in evaluating the Regents Examinations just administered in your school? A number of specific questions are asked below. Your judgment on each of these points would be appreciated. Please be as specific as possible.

6.APPROPRIATENESS - Did the examination, as a whole,constitute an appropriate measure of the commencement-level expectations set forth in the New York State Learning Standards and core curriculum?
7.CONTENT - Was the examination generally appropriate in content?
8.DIFFICULTY - Was the examination generally appropriate in difficulty?
9.FORMAT - Were the formats of the test booklet(s) and other materials satisfactory in terms of ease of use, spacing, arrangement, etc.?
10.SCORING MATERIALS - Were the scoring materials (e.g. procedures, scoring criteria, examples of student responses, and commentary) clear and useful?
11.TIME - Was the time allowance appropriate for completing the examination?
