Grove Street Neighborhood Greenway - Stage 2 Introduction:Your feedback is critical to ensuring that the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) can make improvements to our transportation system that are beneficial to all users. This survey is one avenue for you to provide feedback to MCDOT. There are 15 questions, and this survey should take you 10-15 minutes to complete.A Neighborhood Greenway is a street where traffic calming treatments have been installed to reduce vehicle speeds and discourage drivers from using the street for through traffic in order to prioritize the safe and comfortable use of the street by pedestrians and bicyclists. Stage 1 of the Grove Street Neighborhood Greenway Pilot Project installed treatments on Grove between Bonifant Street and Sligo Avenue designed to slow down drivers and provide dedicated pedestrian space. MCDOT used semi-permanent materials that can be easily removed, relocated, or modified based on how they're working and community feedback. Stage 2 is the next step in the pilot project. In Stage 2, we will consider modifications or additions to the treatments installed as part of Stage 1 in summer 2021. Data was collected in February 2020 to understand how much traffic was using Grove Street before any changes. We also collected vehicle speed and volume data during the temporary shared street in place during the pandemic and during the Stage 1 treatments that are currently in place. We will also collect data during the Stage 2 treatments to determine their effectiveness. This survey will help us understand the preferences and perspectives of residents and users of Grove Street. There is a virtual community meeting scheduled for May 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.We recommend that before starting this survey, you view the Neighborhood Greenway Treatment Primer on our webpage under the "resources" tab.Learn more and sign up for the meeting here: https://montgomerycountymd.gov/dot-dte/projects/grovestreet/ Question Title * 1.
