We want to hear what services our Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Stélmexw (Squamish People) living with disabilities need most and how we can support youBackgroundIn 2025, the Peoples Assembly directed the Nation to develop and administer a survey for our Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Stélmexw (Squamish People) living with disabilities to provide feedback on their circumstances, challenges, needs, and priorities.
The survey results will then inform development of a Disabilities Action Plan focused on guiding the Nation on how to improve services for those living with disabilities.
Who Does This Survey Apply To?We want insights from Squamish People living with disabilities and their families. Squamish People includes anyone living in community (regardless of membership status) or anyone of Squamish heritage living outside of the community. People living with disabilities includes anyone who meets one or more of the following:
- Diagnosed physical disability
- Diagnosed cognitive, intellectual, or developmental disability or neurodiversity
- Elders requiring short-term assistance for their health and wellness.

Survey ConfidentialityAll responses and information gathered from this survey are confidential. The only person who will see your specific responses is the independent surveyor we have hired. They are contractually bound to keep your information confidential and will anonymize all results in the key findings.
