How to enter:

Draw your futuristic car.
Write a couple of sentences explaining how your car works.
Upload it to this entry form, providing all details.
Check the eligibility criteria. The competition is only open to UK residents who are 16 years old and under. Entrants aged under 13 must have a parent or guardian submit the entry on their behalf.
All entries should be submitted by a parent/guardian. Complete this form and upload your child’s entry by 11:59pm on 12 October 2026.

When you can enter? You can enter from 12:00 on 11 September 2026 until 23:59 on 12 October 2026.

How many times can you enter: You can only enter once.

How many winners? There will be 2 winners (1 in each category) who will receive the following prizes:

A year’s subscription to either The Week Junior or The Week Junior Science+Nature; four tickets to LEGOLAND Windsor; the winning designs will also be immortalised by a professional (human) illustrator.

How many runners up? There will also be 2 highly commended awards for each category who will get:

Who are the judges? Our special judges are TV presenter and host of CBeebies’ Grace’s Amazing Machines, Grace Webb, Tom Banks, motoring expert at Go.Compare, and Dan Green, editor of The Week Junior Science+Nature.

What are they looking for? The judges will be looking for machines that help solve some of Earth’s biggest problems, amazing futuristic ideas, and brilliant, eye-catching designs.

How we use your entry: If you send us an entry, we might show it off, for example, in our magazines, on our websites, social media, marketing materials, or our partners (the prize sponsors) might want to show it off too. You still own your work. You give us permission to do this for up to one year after the end date. You can always tell us ‘No’ if you don't want us to use your entry like this.
