Trade-Waste Charges in Australian Car Washes

Reason for this Survey

The Australian Car Wash Association (ACWA) is calling on all car wash operators to stand together to pursue fairer, more reasonable trade-waste charges.

If you’ve ever looked at your trade-waste bill and wondered why it’s so high—or why another operator seems to pay less for the same type of car wash site —this is your chance to help change that.

In South Australia, some water authorities have already introduced trade-waste charges based on assumptions rather than evidence, and there is concern that this approach could spread nationally.

The ACWA Board is considering taking a more active role on this issue. Before doing so, we need to understand members’ experiences and whether you want ACWA to get involved on your behalf.

By sharing real data from car wash sites across Australia, you’ll help ACWA challenge poor assumptions and demonstrate that modern car washing is a low-risk, environmentally responsible industry.

Please have your latest Trade Waste and Water Accounts ready before you begin. Your responses are anonymous, but together they’ll give our industry a stronger, united voice.

Note:

The information you provide will be analysed anonymously.

If you operate more than one site, please complete one survey for each site.
