eCalrossy Expression of Interest for Year 5 or 6 / Stage 3, Year 7, Year 8 or Year 9
eCalrossy is a full time distance education program which currently has classes for Years 7 and 8 students. In 2023 there will also be a Year 9 class. Following parent request for a Year 6 or Stage 3 class, we are also assessing the viability of introducing this for 2023. Utilising video conferencing technologies, students and teachers are in visual and audio contact with each other for almost the entire school day. Years 7, 8 and 9 students have a typical secondary school timetable and are taught by subject experts. Primary students would be taught by an experienced Primary teacher dedicated to the distance education class. The eCalrossy school day is 8:40am to 1:05pm or 1:25pm. In order to meet practical course requirements and to facilitate social interactions, these students are also required to attend three residential sessions at Calrossy, each for a week in duration. It is because of the residential sessions that the school day can be shorter than usual school hours. The fees to be part of this program are approximately $6000 per year.
The hope is that at the end of Year 9 (or earlier), eCalrossy students will attend Calrossy as Day or Boarding students. Further information is available on the school’s website.
