In Minnesota the suicide rate has risen by 40%. How can we better support people in crisis and the people who serve them? One place to start is by improving interventions in the Emergency Department (ED) to better support both at-risk patients and the people who care for them.

Join ED physician leaders Dr. Michael Schwemm of Allina Health and Dr. Chris Palmer of North Memorial Health for this lunch-time webinar. They'll share the details on recommendations developed together by ED and psychiatry physicians and leaders, which are being implemented across Minnesota as part of the MN Health Collaborative.

These recommendations on suicide prevention and intervention in the ED provide guidance to health systems that is evidence-based, adaptable to local context, and aligns with CMS and new Joint Commission requirements.

The MN Health Collaborative is an influential group of health leaders from 15 organizations working together to find solutions to healthcare's toughest challenges, including opioid misuse and addiction, and system improvements for broader mental health needs.

Log-in instructions will be shared closer to the date of the webinar. If any questions, please contact pstaack@icsi.org.
