A French version of this survey is located at:

This survey is intended for residents of rural Ottawa.  A separate survey for other Ottawa residents who travel to rural Ottawa will be released in April 2023.

Transit services are an important element of an efficient society, providing non-drivers (such as youths and some seniors) and other interested parties (such as some commuters) easier access to work and services offered in the broader community. The Rural Transportation Solutions (RTS) team of interested residents and stakeholders is asking rural Ottawa residents to identify the important issues, concerns and options when considering a range of transportation solutions for rural Ottawa.

To learn about the range of possible transit solutions, see this flipbook showing some solutions already in place in Ontario.

Your responses to this survey will help RTS build on results from previous surveys to develop and propose financially responsible and practical transit solutions for rural residents.

Each person 13 years or older in a household can submit their own responses. Please base your responses on your current travel patterns unless otherwise specified.

Thank you for taking the time to help us understand the transportation needs of Ottawa's rural residents.

Question Title

* 15. The standard OC Transpo adult fare is now about $4. This covers about half (50%) of the actual cost of the trip. For the other half, the average Ottawa urban residential property owner pays about $ 840 annually in residential taxes for having access to the full bus/transit service.

For residents of the rural area, if they receive rush-hour OC Transpo service, the average residential property owner pays about $ 200 annually in residential taxes for that limited OC Transpo service.

We are contemplating different options for cost-sharing between the riders' fare and what is put on your tax bill. Check which option you prefer?
