Leadership Council: The governing body of our organization, consisting of up to 23 voting members plus a non-voting ex-officiomember appointed by the Provost. All voting members of the Council are OSHER@Dartmouth members. Curriculum Committee: Recruits qualified study leaders, initiates and receives suggestions for new courses and special lectures, monitors course content for the catalogs, reviews and evaluates programs and courses, assists study leaders in improving offerings and determines suitability of course subjects. Study Leader Support (sub-committee of Curriculum): Recruits qualified study leaders, provides or arranges training for study leaders on the use of classroom equipment, techniques in leading classes, building PowerPoint presentations, etc. Takes part in end-of-term review of course feedback forms. Finance Committee: Responsible for all OSHER@Dartmouth financial matters. The committee reviews and approves monthly reports, prepares the annual budget for Council approval and presents a full financial report at the end of the fiscal year. TheChair of the Committee is Treasurer of OSHER@Dartmouth. Marketing & Communications Committee: Along with OSHER@Dartmouth staff, coordinates internal and external OSHER@Dartmouth communications and publicity. Responsible for the quarterly newsletter, publicity for lectures and events, advertising, and any other communications determined by the Chair of the committee. Membership Development Committee: Charged with developing programs and benefits to attract new members to OSHER@Dartmouth within the guidelines set by the Council. Membership Services Committee: Responsible for providing programs and activities to promote socialization among members. Planning Committee: Responsible for examining the future needs of OSHER@Dartmouth and reports its findings to the Council. Summer Lecture Series Committee: Responsible for all aspects of the Summer Lecture Series, including selection of the theme, recruiting speakers and confirming arrangements for their travel and hospitality while in the area, marketing and promoting the series, solicitation of underwriters and sponsors, and development and tracking of budgets covering the event. Technical Support Volunteer: Willing to be trained in the use of OSHER@Dartmouth audio/visual equipment, or to offer advice and training to other OSHER@Dartmouth members on the use of their personal electronic equipment (tablets, smartphones, laptops, etc.) On-call Volunteer: Primarily dealing with large mailings to OSHER@Dartmouth members, sometimes offers assistance in minor administrative tasks at the OSHER@Dartmouth office (ex: greeting visitors to the office and directing them to the appropriate staff member for assistance, simple data entry, etc.).
