Dehcho Education Division Questionnaire

This questionnaire is provided to you as a person directly interested in providing the highest quality of education to students in the Dehcho Education Division.

This is your opportunity to weigh in on issues and concerns that have been brought to the attention of the Minister of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE), of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT).

Information gathered through this questionnaire will be used to make recommendations to the Minister, which may include recommendations to the Dehcho Divisional Education Council (DDEC), the District Education Authority (DEA) in your community, or more generally to educators and education administrators in the Dehcho.

Each of the eight communities in the Dehcho Education District has a DEA, which is an education body under the Education Act. Members of the community are elected to the education body, which is responsible for administering and managing educational affairs at the community level.

The DDEC is also an education body under the Education Act. Its membership is drawn from representatives of each DEA, and the DDEC is responsible for administering and managing educational affairs for the district as a whole.

It is important for us to receive your input in as timely a manner as possible. Please submit your response by no later than September 19, 2025.

We recognize that questionnaire format has its limitations.

If there is information you would like to provide which is not directly covered by our questions, please do not hesitate to submit any thoughts or suggestions you would like to offer to hilary@dragontoner.ca.

You may also request an in-person interview to discuss any aspect of education in the Dehcho Education Division.

We sincerely look forward to receiving you input, and to development meaningful recommendations to the Minster ECE at the end of our inquiries.

Yours truly,
Sheldon Toner
