The Charlie Ponde Award (CPA) in Provincial Advocacy acknowledges the important contributions real estate professionals can make towards government relations in the province of Alberta. These actions leave a legacy of leadership and voluntary involvement by real estate professionals, while helping ensure a bright future for the real estate industry.

Eligibility Criteria and Nomination Process

Any person who is a member of the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA), works in the real estate industry, and has made significant and sustained contributions to government relations efforts regarding the industry in Alberta is eligible.

The Advocacy Staff, working on behalf of the Executive Committee of AREA administers the Award and receives all nominations. Each nomination is carefully researched and then reviewed by the Executive Committee for merit-based selection. The CPA is awarded annually at the Government Liaison Days of AREA typically held in November.
