Dear Colleagues,
As we all know, people with severe mental illness have a life expectancy approximately 15–20 years shorter than the general population. This is an ethical, clinical and social priority for health care professionals, requiring the need to develop adequate strategies to improve patients’ life expectancy and quality of life.
Among the Presidential Task Forces launched by the European Psychiatric Association, the task force on “Whole Person Health” aims to promote the integration of mental and physical health through lifestyle-related practices and address multimorbidity and premature mortality among people with severe mental disorders.
Based on these premises, the Presidential Task Force on Whole Person Health is pleased to launch the survey on the use and dissemination of lifestyle interventions in ordinary practice.
The survey is intended to be compiled by EPA members, ECP members and representatives of NPAs in order to collect different perspectives on the topic of physical health and lifestyle in patients with severe mental disorders.
Thank you for your time and your cooperation in this activity.
Best regards,
Gaia Sampogna
Member of the Task Force on Whole Person Health
