Village of Orland Park Seeks Residents’ Feedback.

The Community Relations Commission was created in 1991.  The commission is comprised of five members who are residents of the village and appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees.  At least three of the members shall be, if possible, individuals with a disability. The members are appointed for one year terms that begin on the first Monday in June and end the first Monday in the following June. 

Duties: The commission is to examine problems experienced by individuals with disabilities concerning physical accessibility of locations and programs in the village, and to make recommendations to the Village Board of possible solutions. 

RECOMMENDATIONS
•Created because of ADA when there was not village staff overseeing these issues.
•Commission recommended for dissolution because of staff now overseeing ADA compliance.

The village is inviting residents to offer input on the 17 advisory boards and commissions currently part of local government.
