METRO is currently evaluating all reasonable alternatives for the alignment of the US90A/Southwest Corridor rail line that will operate between the current Fannin South station and the proposed station at US90A and Beltway 8 (Missouri City). Metro has 3 new lines currently under construction. They have 3 more proposed lines and the 90A line is one of them.

1. Use the north side of the railroad track even though it means 47 houses in Westbury that abut the track could lose up to 50 feet of their property.

2. Put the rail line down the Hillcroft and West Airport esplanades even though it means losing the esplanades, impacting over a hundred homes on West Airport and Hillcroft, adding a second railroad crossing on Chimney Rock and separating the children in Westbury South from both Anderson Elementary and Westbury High School by a train track.
