We are excited to announce the opportunity for one outstanding student to serve as the Commencement Speaker and one artist for the National Anthem for our upcoming Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremonies.

To be eligible, you must be on track for graduation in the 2024-25 academic year, maintain good academic and disciplinary standing, and commit to participating in the commencement rehearsal and ceremony.

Express your interest by completing the brief survey provided below. The selection process will involve input from the commencement committee, and finalists will have the honor of interviewing with FRCC (Front Range Community College) President Dr. Colleen Simpson.

Who Selects the Commencement Speaker and Singer?
A committee of faculty, alumni, and staff will review all applications. All names and identifying information are redacted, so the committee will not know the applicant's identity when reviewing the initial applications.

After reviewing the applications, the committee will invite 4 finalists to participate in an interview with the President.

TIMELINE:
Student Applications: January 20 – March 1, 2025
Committee Reviews: March 1 - 4, 2025
Committee Meeting #1: March 4, 2025 at 2pm
Committee Meeting #2: March 6, 2025 at 2pm
Finalist recommendations: March 7, 2025
Finalist Interviews with President: March 13, 2025
Final decision: April 4, 2025
Student Notification: April 12, 2025

While we often wish we could award the honor to multiple people, only one singer and one speaker will be selected. The status of your application (selected to be the speaker or singer, or not selected to be the speaker or singer) will be shared with interviewees as soon as possible, around April 12, 2025.
