The Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) is the Town's local plan and program for how to protect and enhance its waterfront.  The LWRP provides an avenue for the Town to receive funding for projects as well as guidance towards a consistent vision for the future of the waterfront in terms of development, revitalization, or protection. We invite you to provide some thoughts on potential opportunities and issues in the waterfront as we continue the planning process.  In the case of Grand Island, the waterfront consists of lands bounding the entire Niagara River shoreline as well as the interior creeks of Burnt Ship, Woods, Gun, Spicer, Turtle, Big Sixmile, and Little Six Mile.

Question Title

* 1. What do you value most about the waterfront?  You can list a few key attributes or give a short description.  This will help us establish a unified vision for what we'd like the waterfront to be (please no negative comments here!).

Question Title

* 2. What are some opportunities you see in or for the waterfront?

For example, are there underutilized areas that could be enhanced? Is there a lack or overabundance of different types of access (overlooks, docks, launches, etc.)? More of a certain type of use?

Question Title

* 3. What are some issues you see in or at the waterfront?

For example, natural issues (e.g. shoreline erosion, flooding, ice, habitat loss, invasive species, water quality, etc.), man-made issues (e.g. development, docking/shorline structures, drainage infrastructure, marinas, etc.), political (local or county level), etc.

Thank you for taking the time to offer your input!  More opportunities will be available as the planning process continues.  We invite you to keep informed through the Town's website and Facebook project page (search GIWaterfront).
