Join Us for a Night of Storytelling Through Crafting!

At Human Rights in the Picture, we believe in the power of creative expression to amplify voices and spark change. Our annual campaign, The Long Haul Youth Initiative, invites young people to share their concerns about human rights through storytelling and this year, we’re focusing on activists, storytellers, and NGOs in the Netherlands.

To kick things off, we’re hosting a soft launch Craft Night on Tuesday 2 June, from 5–7 PM at Open Amare (Spuiplein 150, The Hague). This informal evening is all about coming together to share stories, ideas, and concerns. Not through words alone, but through crafting a collective tablecloth. Finger food and drinks will be provided, and all materials will be available on-site. Of course, if you have a favorite tool or material, feel free to bring it along!

Inspired by the warmth of a shared table and the simplicity of everyday materials, this event is a chance to weave your perspective into a shared narrative. Leave with new connections, fresh inspiration and the satisfaction of contributing to a collective piece.

Whether you’re a seasoned activist, a student, an artist or simply curious, your contribution matters. Together, we’ll explore how individual stories can shape collective action: one stitch, one brushstroke, or one conversation at a time.
No experience needed. Just bring your ideas!
