Cycle for Sight Ottawa Volunteer Registration 2019

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Ottawa Cycle for Sight! There are a number of volunteer roles available on event day; please take a moment to review the roles before completing our survey.

Volunteer roles include:

Route Marking @ Carp Fairgrounds
August 17th 10am-3pm

This volunteer role is incredibly important to the success of Cycle for Sight. You ensure the route is clear to our cyclists so that they stay on the right path and arrive safely at the finish line. To complete this role you will need your own vehicle, or a partner with a vehicle. Each vehicle will need two volunteers, a driver and a route marker. Route marking volunteers will need to be available for approximately 4-5 hours during the day before Cycle for Sight.

Route Checking @ Carp Fairgrounds
August 18th  6am-9:30am

Volunteers will have put route signs up on August 17th. The route checker is responsible for ensuring that the route markers are still up and have not been tampered with (ie. Arrows direction switched, missing signs, etc) and that the route is clear for the cyclists.

Kick-off @ Carp Fairgrounds
August 18th 5:30-9:30am (We’ll bring the coffee!)

Come ready to cheer on our cyclists as they depart on their ride. We need your help to send our riders off in style. Kick-off volunteers will need to be available between 5:30am-9:30am on event day. Volunteers will be assigned to cover the following roles with additional tasks as required:

· Registration/Donations
· Car Parking
· Bike Parking

We need volunteers to cheer on our wonderful cyclists as they return from their ride!

We will also need support in the following areas:

· Serving drinks, must be Smart Serve certified

· Lunch tickets & service
· Teardown/clean-up

Sweepers @ Carp Fairgrounds
