Information for participation

About the survey

Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula has funded the District Council of Elliston to undertake a Childcare Needs Analysis to better understand the current and future childcare needs of families across the district.

We invite families to share their experiences and childcare needs through this community survey. You do not need to be currently using childcare to participate.

What is the purpose of the survey?

The survey will help us to:

· identify current unmet childcare demand;
· understand how limited childcare availability affects families, employment and workforce participation;
· assess future childcare needs;
· inform future childcare planning and investment decisions; and
· provide evidence that may assist future childcare service providers and support funding opportunities.

What will I be asked?

The survey asks about your household and children, current childcare arrangements, difficulties accessing childcare, the type and amount of childcare you may require, future childcare needs and the impact childcare availability may have on employment.

At the end of the survey, you can also provide additional comments and indicate whether you would like to receive information about the findings, attend a community meeting or participate in a follow-up interview.

Do I have to participate?

No. Participation is entirely voluntary. You can choose not to participate or not to answer optional questions.

Will my information be confidential?

Information collected through the survey will be treated confidentially and used for the purposes of the Childcare Needs Analysis. Survey findings will generally be reported as combined or summarised information. Individual participants will not be intentionally identified in public reports.

If you choose to provide your contact details for further information or a follow-up interview, these details will only be used for that purpose and will not be included in public reporting.

How will the results be used?

The findings will contribute to the District Council of Elliston Childcare Needs Analysis and may be used to inform future childcare planning, discussions with potential service providers, investment decisions and funding opportunities. A summary of the findings may also be shared with the community.

Consent

By proceeding with and submitting the survey, you confirm that you have read this information, understand that participation is voluntary, and consent to your responses being used for the Childcare Needs Analysis.
