Scribblers on the Road is FORM’s travelling storytelling and creativity program. In 2025, Scribblers will travel to the Pilbara region bringing some of Australia’s most loved and celebrated authors and storytellers to schools and communities.

We’ll be hosting a free Family Fun Day featuring performances, presentations, activations and workshops with our Scribblers Creative Stars together with local performers, authors, artists and storytellers.
We have several opportunities for emerging and established creatives and storytellers in each region to be part of the line-up at the following events:
- South Hedland Family Fun Day on Sunday 19 October 2025 at JD Hardie Community Centre.

What are we looking for?
Local Creatives

Calling all artists, writers, storytellers, performers and entertainers local to Hedland! Whether you’re interested in running workshops, performing, running demonstrations or community activities, we want to hear from you. Successful applicants will receive a fee for service and be featured on our program, website and socials!

Youth Performers (12-25)

Young people with a talent and passion for performing are invited to apply for a ‘paid gig’! We welcome solo and group acts from any performing arts discipline – musicians, dancers, singers, comedians, oral storytellers and everything in between! Each act selected will receive $100 for a 30-minute slot (either as a gift card or contracted performance fee, depending on performers’ age).

This opportunity is open only to those aged 12-25.

Food Stalls/Trucks & Community Stalls

Food vendors and community organisations interested in being part of the Family Fun Days are invited to apply for a space. A limited number of stallholders/vendors can be accommodated and those selected will be provided a space within the Festival area at no cost.

Volunteers

Volunteering at Scribblers Family Day is a great opportunity to gain work experience, meet new people and connect with your community! You’ll help provide a unique experience to our audiences by making the event fun, enriching and accessible to all. There are many ways volunteers can be involved from customer service, helping run activities, setting/packing up equipment – and all sorts of other things.
Please note that all information provided in this application will be treated as strictly confidential by FORM and its employees.
