Tour Overview & Participation Requirements

 
Join us for the U.S. Green Building Council - Illinois' fifth annual GreenBuilt Home Tour on Saturday and Sunday, July 22-23, 2017 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm!

This annual event showcases high-performance green homes of all stripes - particularly those that have earned third-party recognition or awards such as ENERGY STAR, Passive House, LEED for Homes, NAHB's National Green Building Standard, Living Building Challenge, GreenStar, HERS rating and more. The goal of this tour is to increase public awareness and demand for healthy, efficient, and sustainable homes. Learn more and see last year's tour homes here.

WHY JOIN THE TOUR?
The GreenBuilt Home Tour is a one-of-a-kind venue for consumers to experience green-building innovations and green technologies for the home. For design and building professionals, the tour is a unique opportunity to showcase your brand, your services, and your expertise in a way that sets you apart. Tour participants will benefit from a targeted promotional campaign that includes editorial placement and paid advertising - both online and in print, social media promotion, and local media coverage leading up to and including the two-day event.

- A presence in USGBC-Illinois email blasts to more than 30,000 email subscribers
- Posts about your home on the tour and link to your company website on the USGBC-Illinois GreenBuilt Home Tour Facebook page
- An enhanced listing in the GreenPro Directory
- Use of the 2017 GreenBuilt Home Tour logo for one year
- Participating in the tour can earn up to 2 points in LEED for Homes for advanced education (AE 1.2) and public awareness (AE 1.3)

APPLYING FOR THE TOUR
We are excited to hear about your project and look forward to your application. Note there is no application fee, but the information provided will be confirmed, and additional information may be collected. Applications or a note of interest must be received before Friday, March 3, 2017 to be considered for the 2017 event.

You will be required to provide verification documents (e.g. HERS report, certification proof, etc).

If your home is selected, you will be asked to provide at least one high resolution (1 MB or larger) home photo or rendering suitable for publication in print and online.

SPONSORSHIP:
As the primary contact for the home, you will work with USGBC-Illinois staff to secure a minimum of $1,000 in sponsorships to feature your home on the tour.  Sponsorship can be comprised of single or multiple sponsors including builders, designers, products, or services used in your home.  Upon submitting your application, USGBC-Illinois staff will request a detailed list of potential sponsor contact information along with outreach assistance to secure sponsors.

There are also packages available if you are interested in additional recognition, including purchasing an ad to highlight your company in our event program or having materials about your company distributed to all tour attendees.  Please contact Joan Martin jmartin@usgbc-illinois.org for sponsorship opportunities.

NOTE:
Please prepare to spend at least 20 minutes completing this application. Information handy to have prior to completing the application is any energy performance test results, specifications and features of the home, and the contact information for potential sponsors.
