How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in participating in In One Act 2021. This rewarding free playwriting development program, presented annually by Yarra Libraries in partnership with Melbourne Writers' Theatre, is now in its fifth year. In One Act 2021 is aimed at aspiring and emerging Victorian-based playwrights who live in the City of Yarra and beyond, and in previous years has received a high volume of interest. For this reason, we ask applicants to complete the following short questionnaire about themselves, their writing interests/experience and writing goals.

Please note that In One Act is a 5-stage writing program. At the time of applying, it is important to check that you will be available to attend all of the workshops. The DATES are listed at Question 2.

The 2021 program will be offered to a total of 15 participants. A guaranteed number of places will be reserved for City of Yarra residents.

Applications open at 9am on Monday 12th April. Your completed questionnaire must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 28th May. All questionnaires will be processed by Melbourne Writers' Theatre, and you will be notified of the outcome by Friday 18th June.

Good luck!
