PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Your feedback is important to us, this survey will take 10 minutes.  Feedback will be incorporated into the proposed design.  The proposed design will be presented to the Town Council and a final plan will be displayed on the town web page.

This project will provide a study of design improvements for a bicycle and pedestrian facility connecting Depot Road to Thomas Road in the town of Groton, which was identified in the Trails Master Plan. The corridor begins at Industrial Drive (near Bluff Point State Park) following Depot Road to the north to Route 1, then proceeds west along Route 1 to South Road (State Road 649). The corridor will then follow South Road southerly to Tower Avenue and then continue to Thomas Road. The study includes identifying permitting constraints, rights-of-way widths, and opportunities for creating bike lanes, shared-use paths, and signage improvements to provide biking and walking opportunities. The study will also develop cost estimates of identified improvements and identify potential funding sources.
