MHCN Mental health carer psychiatrist's crisis survey

What are the impacts of the crisis in psychiatry and the resignations of many public psychiatrists?

This survey is to let MHCN (and through MHCN the NSW Health, Mental Health Branch) know about the impacts of the crisis in psychiatry and the resignations of many public psychiatrists.
We would like to understand if the person you care for is not able to access their usual care or has new needs that cannot be met.
This survey is designed to take only 4 - 5 minutes of your time. Your input is invaluable and highly appreciated.
MHCN will use this research to raise awareness with other stakeholders on the impacts of the psychiatrist workforce crisis from the perspective of mental health carers. In line with MHCN's privacy policy, any information you provide will be held in a confidential and secure manner. MHCN will share and produce a summary of data or report collected from this survey, which may include information provided such as the postcode and service/s your person is accessing or trying to access. You do not have to answer all the questions in this survey.
1.How long have you been a mental health carer?
2.How long has the person you support been receiving mental health care for?
3.What is the impact of the ‘psychiatrist’s crisis’ on the care of the person you support?
4.What needs does the person you care for have which are not currently being met?
5.Has the psychiatrist shortage affected your own mental health or wellbeing as a carer?
6.What types of support, beyond psychiatry, would best address the unmet needs of the person you care for? Select all that apply.
7.What is the postcode of the person you are caring for? (This information will help the Ministry of Health and MHCN to better understand how different parts of NSW are being impacted).
8.Which service/s is your person accessing currently, or trying to access? (This information will help the Ministry of Health and MHCN to better understand which different services are being impacted and may need extra support).
